Reflections and Connections- A journey into consciousness

In collaboration with the Creative Universe and the Hunt Family Foundation, the GNH Centre Bhutan crafted and led a transformative leadership retreat, introducing participants to the profound principles of Gross National Happiness (GNH). This immersive journey delved into Bhutan's ancient wisdom, spiritual depth, and deep-rooted connection to nature. Participants engaged in rich sessions of meditation, cultural exchange, and personal reflection, all within Bhutan's serene, spiritually resonant landscape.

Participants attended wisdom sessions, including a powerful talk by Dr. Dorji Wangchuk on Karmic Connections, a creative workshop led by renowned artist Mr. Sukbir, participants also experienced GNH in Action, involving hands-on activities at a local farm, providing a deeper understanding of how the principles of GNH are practiced in daily Bhutanese life.

Participants also engaged in a solo nature immersion, reconnecting with themselves and the surrounding environment. The evening culminated in storytelling, fostering a shared sense of introspection and communal bonding. The latter part of the program focused on Community and Ancestry, delving into Bhutan’s cultural roots and the importance of sustainable socio-economic development within the GNH framework. Participants engaged in integrating the principles of GNH into everyday life, ensuring that the lessons learned during the journey would continue to influence their lives after returning home.

Nineteen participants, primarily from Australia, took part in this enriching experience. Throughout the journey, they formed deep connections with Bhutan’s culture, people, and each other, departing with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of how to align their lives with happiness, sustainability, and spirituality.

By the end of the retreat, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and a profound understanding of how to integrate the principles of happiness, sustainability, and spirituality into their daily lives.
