The GNH Centre Bhutan (GNHCB), in partnership with the Sustainable Brands Thailand, is hosting an exclusive Leadership Summit from 11-15 September 2017 on the theme, “Exploring Leadership for the Good Life”. It is designed for international business leaders to explore the integration of GNH values and practices into their organizations.
The 4-day event will be held in Thimphu and Paro. The Summit is the first of its kind and was created as a result of HRH Ashi Kezang Choden Wangchuk’s visit to Thailand in 2016. Her Highness is the President and Patron of the GNH Centre Bhutan and was invited as the Key Note Speaker to the 2016 Sustainable Brands event in Thailand.
HRH Ashi Kezang Choden Wangchuck in her address stated, “Business and society are interdependent. Therefore, the two must strive to coexist harmoniously. It will be this genuine mutuality of interest between business and society that will build that vital bond of trust and respect -so critical to the sustainability of business.” Taking inspiration from this, the Leadership Summit was created as a joint effort to introduce GNH in the international business sector.
The Summit will be held on 11 September 2017 at the Taj Tashi and will be graced by Her Royal Highness Ashi Kezang Choden Wangchuck as the Key Note Speaker. The overall four day program will introduce an overview of GNH in the Bhutanese context, GNH leadership, and how Bhutan has been able to integrate GNH values within the government and business sectors. The event will see discussions and dialogue between national experts and the international participants.
Dr. Saamdu Chetri, Executive Director of the GNHCB adds that, “The present way of life is robbing the future generations. It is in the hands of the business leaders to give a better world of opportunities. Therefore, the lives of the planet and its beings rest in the hands of sustainable business leaders.”
Program participants include Chief Executive Officers and Presidents of business organizations such as B Grimm Group, the Health Promotion Foundation, Thai Listed Companies Association, Stock Exchange of Thailand, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Sustainable Brands, among others.
